PERMACULTURE IMPLEMENTATION CALENDAR

Welcome to Section 2: HOW to do WHAT — YOUR PLUG-AND-PLAY PROTOCOLS

On this page, you’ll get access to the practical tools for implementation; the protocols and implementation guides.

These are the step-by-step guides on how to implement your plans so that you have a guide to follow for each project and are able to execute the right steps the first time around.

Watch the video below to get started.

Video Lesson Summary:

When starting a new permaculture project, it’s easy to find yourself in a situation where you feel out of your depth and overwhelmed with everything the project entails.

The most effortless way to overcome the lack of time, experience, and confidence is to find a recipe for how to do something right, do it, and learn through that experience. That’s what this section is all about – the recipes: protocols, and implementation guides.

The protocols outline a blueprint for achieving a specific goal, a workflow, or a standard operating procedure. Each protocol maps out a set of specific tasks you need to do and the order in which you need to do them.

The implementation guides are step-by-step instructions for a specific task from the protocols. They outline the exact practical things you’ll need to with your hands and give you clear instructions for it.

Action Steps:

Step 1. Use the flowchart or the program protocols worksheet to find a protocol you want to implement according to your context.

Step 2. Click on the implementation guides from the protocol page and start preparing for implementing the first practical steps of your permaculture project.

Step 3. Proceed to the next lesson: Your Permaculture Implementation Calendar.

IMPLEMENTATION GUIDES LIBRARY

In addition to 26 implementation guides covering the establishment of food systems, you can access all the implementation guides created thus far, some of which go beyond the focus of this edition of the PIC.

If you are doing a specific task on the farm, and you want to quickly check if  there is a how-to guide for that task, you can come straight to this page and scan through the titles.

Access the thematic list of ALL the implementation guides here.
